1. They discussed domestic violence, economic access, and education. They decided to focus on economic/financial independence for women.

2. They needed access to credit as they cannot borrow either from relatives (who are also poor) or from the bank (as they have no collateral).

3. The three innovations were: money is lent to a group of peers and they hold each other responsible for paying it back; the loan payments are broken into very small amounts that come out of people's daily income; an incentive system - the poor are first lent small amounts. If they pay these back successfully, they are then lent larger amounts.
